Not so Bryan and Rachel Bland who have now been running their own successful business for nearly four years.

NORFOLK:

                                                                             Life has changed unimaginably for Darren and Julie Nicholls over the last few years. After Darren was made redundant from his job in IT and had little prospect of finding another position in the short-term, Julie gave up her job as a nursery nurse and with their two children the couple moved from Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex to Norfolk to take over an existing kennels called Dogotel.

DIARY OF A NEW CATTERY OWNER:

"The saying goes that if it's not worth fighting for, then it's not worth having. These words of wisdom kept me sane through the nightmare which was our planning application to open a boarding cattery. When I briefly relayed the saga to the Editor of Kennel and Cattery Management she suggested that I might write a blog to help other prospective cattery owners about to embark on their journey and to follow the progress of our building project, leading up to our long-awaited opening in Summer 2010."
